Vacation to California starting close to San Jose to San Diego? Hi i am traveling to California. I want to start probably around San Jose because that is the cheapest place to fly into. Need advice on travelling to Las Vegas and San Diego? Family vacation in southern california? Our family is driving to Anaheim from Texas next month to visit Disneyland once again (just there 6 months ago!). On our last visit, we headed to Legoland, San Diego on the way back home and that was a FLOP! Fortunately we did enjoy the beach which made up for Legoland. Our children are 2,4,and 6yrs and we know that Universal studios and Knott's are out of the question because the kids are too young. Palm Springs vs. southern california? My family wants to go to Palm Springs for Spring Break. I honestly think it's pointless. I'm from Edmonton, and all Palm Springs has is pools and good shopping. Is there any way to do this without being tacky? I know some of you guys are going to be haters on this subject, but I am getting married May 31, 2008. This is both our second marriage, but my first marriage was when I was 19 and lasted a couple months (did not have a wedding) and his first marriage lasted 7 years and she cheated on him twice. So anyway, we are having a wedding w about 100-150 people. Between the two of us, we have four children (one for me, three for him) so instead of a honeymoon, we are doing a family vacation to california (where my whole family is from) to do the disneyland/sea world/universal studios/ and san diego zoo package. We will all be out there for about 12 days. We own everything we need for a house, etc, so i was wondering if there is any appropriate way to suggest monetery gifts rather then the normal/traditional wedding gifts? I know they do honeymoon registries, so we were kinda hoping to get money to help pay for our honeymoon/family vacation instead. I do not want to be tacky though. We are saving up for it. We are going to be buying a house around February of that year as well, so we are having o save up for both. How do you compare the sea world/universal studio/disneyland in Florida vs LA/SanDiego? Which ones are better? I have two family vacation planned; South California in October and Orlando in December. Now both of these locations have Sea World, Universal Studios and Disneyland. Any suggestion on choosing ones in California vs Orlando? I have a 2 yr old son. Why do Somali people do exausting work even girls? I went to southern California for a vacation last summer. I was staying in eastern San Diego where there are Mexicans, Asians, Arabs, and Somalis. One day I saw this 14 yr old Somali girl who was carrying this 10 pound Basmati (Indian) rice that looked too heavy for her. This girl is wearing this long Jilbaab as they call it, up to her ankles and then wearing sandals and her feet are dusty from the sand in this hot Californian desert climate. Going on a cruise? I haven't had a vacation in like 4 years and have decided to go on a cruise. I've never been on a cruise and I need advice. I don't want to spend more than $2000 for the whole vacation. The cruise cannot be more than 5 days long. I live in southern california near los angeles and san diego. California Coastal Road Trip? Help me Plan????? Hey guys, I am planning my first vacation in 5yrs!! My Boyf and I are going to fly into San Francisco on Aug 22nd and fly out of San Diego on Sept 1st. We want to spend the first weekend in San Fran and then make our way down the coast hitting L.A. on route to spend the 2nd weekend in San Diego before flying home. (e.g. wineries, seaside villages, parks, bars etc?) Then once in San Diego what area will satisfy my need for the relaxing beach resort and his desire to explore the city? Planning a trip to Disneyland?? Need Vacation package information/ideas? My husband & I are planning a 8 day trip this coming October. We are buying the "Southern California City Pass" which allows 3 whole days ( hopper pass) at Disneyland & California Adventure plus one day at the following places: 1) Universal Studio Hollywood, 2) San Diego Sea World & our choice of EITHER San Diego Zoo or Wild Animal park. We are getting AAA & we currently have our costco card which we will inquire on specials with them but are wondering who else should we try to look into . We are hoping anyone out there can give us ideas and/or share any experiences they had with buying "Vacation Packages". We also like to note, we plan on staying at Disneyland Hotel for 5 NIGHTS then we will stay at a San Diego hotel for an additional 2-3 NIGHTS. We know this trip is gonna costs over several thousand dollars to include food, hotel, tickets, etc but we want to make it worth our wild. We are still trying to save some money to buy gifts 4 family. Please help...

What if I was Vacationing California and my car dealer from Texas Repoed my Car? 9 days ago my husband and I arrived in San Diego California. we drove our car here and the sepentine and air compresser dicided to go bad three days ago. I had it taked to firestone last night. this morning i recived a rude call from this gentelmen named jeff saying he was with my car dealer. I told the guy that my husband and I would go to Firestone at noon after my husband and his cousin got home. at 10 till noon we go to Firestone and Find our car not there and the cops say it was repoed. The car had my HUsbands carpentry tools in it because he was planning on helping his uncle fix there later that day. I read my clause and found out that was not allowed to take the car over state lines for more then 30 days. it has only been here 9 and we were planning on heading back in a week's time and now i have having to cut the vacation short to deal with my car. my dealership says that I have been here a whole lot longer then 9 days and that I can get my belonging on monday in texas but we were planning on staying here another week. plus now we have to rent a car to go back to texas... is what they did illegal and if not or so what can i do about it....... someone told me that they have to leagally hold it in calli for 30 days when they repo out of state or not.... is that true? the Car was totally payed up to date and I only had a few months to go before i owned it. now the are telling me I was merely renting it for he past 17 months even though the contract doesn't say that.

Which is a better place to swim San Diego or Puerto Penasco? Me and my friend are going to Mesa for a vacation and we would really like to go to mexico just for fun. but i have herd that La Joya near san diego is a way better place to swim so if you have ever been to a beach in california and in the sea of cortez if you could just write a description of what they were like that would be great

Where and how to best spend holidays in California so that I will be able to see a lot? Hello, I would like to make a trip for two adults to California, for 2 weeks in September / October, like 20th Sep - 4th Oct. I would like to sight see a lot (see San Francisco, Los Angeles, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas although in Nevada and more unless they're not worth it, what do you think?) but also have fun on those famous beaches and shop on those famous streets. I would just like to see a lot. What is the best place for me? SF, LA, San Diego, Anaheim, Santa Barbara, or somewhere else? Do you think it would be better to live outside the city? Or near the beach, like in Huntington Beach? I'm just looking for the best place so that I will be able to see as much as possible in a hotel for 120$-150$/night? Or do you think it is better to buy a vacation package if something like that even exists? If yes, do you know what's good? A lot of questions... Thanks!

Where to travel for Vacation (California, Vegas, or Minnesota?)? We want to take a vacation in March (I know, we're planning ahead because we need to get time off requests in at work) and we can't figure out where to go. Money IS of concern. Here are our options - We live in Phoenix. We can save money on airfare by taking a road trip to Las Vegas and/or San Diego, but we're not sure what to do there? We're not gamblers, and I know there are lots of shows in Las Vegas, but I would imagine they're all expensive? Also, is there anything to do in San Diego besides sit on the beach? Another option is to drive straight up to the Sacramento area and stay with family to save money on hotel costs. Then we could travel to San Francisco and spend more on hotels and other activities, but again, what is there to do? Lastly, we can go to Minnesota where we also have family. We'll have to spend money on airfare obviously, but will be able to stay with family for free. But again, what to do in Minnesota in March? Anyone who's ever traveled these areas have any advice?

getaway vacation ideas for a 2 year anniversary in SoCal? my girlfriend and i are about to celebrate our 2 year anniversary and are looking for a romantic getaway in or around southern California (San Diego, Monterrey, LA . were looking for a nice cottage or hotel with a private jacuzzi and fun things to do during the day, that would be priced around 150-170 a night.. any ideas would help im kind of stumped right now.. thanks actually we live in LA so were thinking of some place within driving distance.. any names or suggestions on places i can look up?

Wedding spots in southern California? My sweetie, 3 children and I will be going on a family vacation to Disneyland/San Diego area in the beginning of April 2009 and were hoping to incorporate our marriage. Is the story line to my script too much like 'Sony has a Dream'? B.T.W. 'Sony has a Dream' is the show that was called 'Welcome to Mollywood' on Disney Channel. Here's the story line for the first season: Mr.Shoners applies for a job in California and the family has to move from their cozzy house in Florida to San Diego, California. It's the last week of school and Kenzie,Skip,and Chrissy get transferred to San Diego High School. Kenzie, a freshman has troubles with friends/boys. Chrissy, a junior fits in quickly with her acting/singing skills. And Skip, a sophmore fits in with the crowd because of his charm and looks. Kenzie is a champ in softball. While school's been flying by the past week she meets another softball player named Samantha Collins. They both become friends really quickly. After school, they both hang out playing catch and hitting softballs. Max Baker, another freshman is the most popular guy in school and is the school's baseball captain. His best friend Craig Collins, a freshman is Sammy's brother and also plays for the baseball team. Alexis Smith is also a freshman and is the captain of the cheer squad. She's been dating Max since the begining the year. Here's the story line for the first episode: When school's over for the year and summer vacation breaks out practically everyone in the school attends Camp Sport Star except for Chrissy who has the dream of acting, she attends TFT (Theatre For Teens). Counsler Mark coaches the boys baseball team for summer camp. Counsler Tiff coaches the cheer squad. Mr.Andrew is the head of the camp and he makes all the activites. For the past summers, there hasn't been any girls who wanted to be on the softball team, so, they took it out of the activity list. When Sammy and Kenzie get to camp they are shocked that there's no softball for girls. They do everything in their power to get it back. By the end of the first episode Mr.Mark brings it back. Max starts to fall for Kenzie. Chrissy gets a lead in the play at her camp called "Secrets of a Teen". Skip finds a girl friend named Ellie. Is it too much like it? Anything I can take out?
