I need to take a vacation soon and looked into travel sites, most base prices on double occupency, when I fill in single or travel alone, the price is the same as if paying for two people. The problem with all the dating websites is that they all require you to specificy a particular location. But since I will be traveling away from home, and so will she, it really doesn't matter if we don't start out in the same location. Why does it cost more to travel if you are a single? Hotels for singles are cheaper than for two.? I am single and want to go on a tour. But they charge much more if you are single. But if I walk into a hotel and get a room it costs less than if I am with another person. There is something wrong here.

What is a good long travel single crown freeride (or downhill) fork and a good cheapish frame? I am looking to convert from a hardtail 100mm travel fork dirt jump bike to a freeride bike. Not really a downhill bike because I think I still want a fairly light and easy to bike around bike, if you know what I mean. I cant for the life of me think of a good single crown fork that has about 150mm+ travel. I am in a budget but am looking for second hand (but not too old) because its a little cheaper! As for a frame, I have thought about the specialized Big Hit and my favourite so far, the Giant Faith. Although these are really downhill frames! I also like the kona stinky and stab. I'm aspiring to be- I understand the structure of articles, how to 'slant' a story, how to write succinctly within guidelines, etc- I took a very good travel writing course. I'm also a fairly decent photographer. And I travel a lot. But the one thing I never understood was how to find your markets- every publication has specific times of year they do pieces on certain areas or themes- so how do I know when to write what? Do I need to solicit every single travel editor, and find out what they're looking for every year? Or is there a publication like Travel Writer's Market? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Why are single people who travel with a tour company charged an extra fee? I had planned to take a trip to the western part of USA with a travel group and was told I would have to pay $600.00 extra if I went as a single person. Why am I being charged such a fee? If I checked into a Hotel by myself the hotel does not charge me double so I don't buy the extra fee due to accomodations. I truly feel it is because travel companies think single travelers will not spend as much as couples thus they feel they are losing money and tax single people. What do you think? I enjoy traveling alone and should be able to do so w/o going broke.

I'm 24, single and travel a lot but I'm lonely and needy. How can I meet and enjoy the company of a nice girl? When I say travel 'a lot' I mean an average of over 2 flights a week (49 this year so far and 107 last year to be exact!). All of it is for work, and much as I know I'm very lucky, I feel very lonely (especially up in the air on those long-haul flights), and find it very hard to form something meaningful with anyone. Even though meeting girls is in itself difficult, the few I have met have all said they wouldn't want anything because i'm simply 'never there'. Aside change jobs is there anything I can do?
