contiki tour ... single female, 18 ...? i have thought over and over on whether i would rather go to europe and do the "back-packing experience" by myself (completly my choice about going alone) ... or doing a contiki tour for at least 30 days.. perhaps some of you that have gone with contiki can help with some questions i have. -have any of you gone on the Winter Wanderer tour? Why are single people who travel with a tour company charged an extra fee? I had planned to take a trip to the western part of USA with a travel group and was told I would have to pay $600.00 extra if I went as a single person. Why am I being charged such a fee? If I checked into a Hotel by myself the hotel does not charge me double so I don't buy the extra fee due to accomodations.
