Cozumel Mexico Cruise? Hi all, My family and I are planning a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico in late May and we are fisrt time cruisers. We aren't sure what to look forward to in Cozumel like where to go? How to go? Should we go to the ruins and where or what are the names of the places we should go to see the ruins? Should we take a taxi or go with a group? What fun in Cozumel that will fit into the cruise's schedule (7 hours). Thank you for your time and effort. Best of lucks to you all.

Carnival Cruise--Mexico--Stay aboard?? We are taking a 4 day cruise in September for our honeymoon to Key West and Mexico. When we arrive in Mexico, should we just stay on board and lounge around or do you think we should actually do something in Mexico? I saw a travel episode that stated when the cruise is docked, sometimes it's better to just stay on and take advantage of activities on the ship. We are porting at Calica, Mexico.

Visa requirements for Caribbean cruise to Mexico? I know this question has been asked on this forum, but I wasn't able to get any confirmation of what the actual visa requirements were for foreign nationals (from India & UK) visiting the US and wanting to take a cruise to Mexico (Cozumel and Progresso). Does anybody have any additional information on this? I checked with the cruise line (Carnival) as some people suggested, and they just said that I would have to check with the Mexican consulates in UK and India. The consulate in UK said that you would "probably" not need a visa, but to be on the safe side, you should obtain a double-entry visa. The consulate in India said that it does not issue visas for cruises to Mexico, and that the necessary travel documents could be obtained at the port (in Mexico, I'm guessing). So, although I have received answers from various sources, I haven't received a definite answer from anybody. Could somebody who has actually been in this situation (or similar) tell me if they needed visas? Thanks I was just told by the consulates in Florida and Texas that there are no Mexican visa requirements for cruises. This applies to all nationalities.
Going on Mexico Cruise - Which cruise line is the best? I'm planning a 7 day cruise to the Mexian riviera and I'm having a hard time trying to decide on a cruise line. Holland is most appealing to me (the shows look great, rooms look good and the movie theater sounds cool!) but I want to make sure I'm making the best decision. It will be our honeymoon and we're in our thirties. Can anyone offer some advice on what cruise line would be the best for us?
Questions about Royal Caribbean cruises? I'm a single mom and will be taking the 4 day Mexico cruise this fall. My little girl will probably be in the kids' club a lot. I'm in Las Vegas now, so I'm really not interested in gambling or drinking/nightclubs/bars. What is there for me to do? I'm really looking for a good spot to read, I think they have a library? Has anyone visited it who can tell me if they have lots of good books? And I know about the rock climbing and yoga classes - I'll be doing those! :) I'm also curious about in room movie rental... do they do that? Do you know what cable channels their ships get? Ordering room service and watching TV seem heavenly to me, I know it seems ridiculous to some. One more thing, a lot of the excursions I'm interested in don't allow my daughter to join yet (she's 10.) If I chose to just hang out on the ship while it was at the different ports, do they still have activities onboard? Do you know if they just allow you to get a towel and hang out on the beach?
What is the dress code on cruises-day and night? I am going on a 4 night Baja/Mexico Cruise on Carnival/Paradise. For day, are tank tops/capri pants/jeans/shorts okay? And for night, are you supposed to wear a formal dress every night for your sit down dinner? Thanks.
7 day Mexico Cruise (Formal Wear)? My wife and I are going to a cruise for the very first time... What to wear on formal Evenings... Do we have to wear something very formal... Like a tie, jacket, formal dress for women... (Note: do not want to spend too money on formal wear... rentals etc..) Please advise...
So I'm trying to convince my parents (Cruise to Mexico)? I'm trying to convince my parents about a cruise to Mexico for my graduation this coming summer. It would be family (of 4 including me) and my boyfriend (that makes 5 and he would pay for himself).... Now I've been on a few cruises before and Carnival and Royal Carribean were my favorites What would be the cheapest way to book a 7 day cruise between late June, July or early August on either of those cruiselines
Cruise: Bahamas vs. Mexico? Given equal costs, would you rather go on a 4-day cruise in the Bahamas, or a 7-day cruise to Mexico? More details... Bahamas: stops in Nassau, CocoCay, and Key West, FL. No full days of cruising in open water. Mexico: stops in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. Three full days of cruising in open waters. As it turns out, with air fare, the cost is strangely exactly identical for each trip. The tough part is deciding? Which would you choose, and why? Have you been to either place, what did you think? Lot's of quality answers, thanks everyone! I'm still a little split on the decision, however I tend to agree that the 7-day would be better because 4 days seems a little short, although I think the Bahamas would probably be a better destination...unfortunately, 7-day Bahamas is too expensive right now. Anyway, I can't decide on a best answer...so I'm going to put this bad boy up for a vote. Thanks again!
Cruise To Mexico? Husband and I are looking to take a cruise to Mexico w/2 children (ages 7/9). Looking for a cruise line that is both perfect for families and affordable. Who has taken this cruise and what cruise line? Did you like it? Pros/Cons? Will travel in June 08. Thanks :)
First Cruise to Mexico with a 13 year old? Travel agent needed or not? I am planning a cruise with my daughter, who will be 13 at the time of travel. I saw a nice 4 day cruise from New Orleans port to one destination at Cozumel Mexico. Then back to the port. This will be my first time on a cruise and out of the states. I am leaning toward Carnival b/c of the teenager activities and price. However I am nervous doing this myself. I called Carnival's 800 #, but the CSR wasn't help either. He was trying to sell this and that, but he wasn't answering my questions. Like if I go to Mexico will I have to get different money? Do I need a passport, is my room the anchor or stern...etc. I felt like I was getting on his nerves. Do you recommend I use a travel agent, or do they try to sell you everything also. In addition, what questions do you recommend I ask and what should I say no to...thanks
Cruise to Mexico? I'm going on "The Holiday" cruise ship and we are sailing to Mexico. To any people that have been before, what can I expect?
A cruise to Baja Mexico in late November? Have you cruised Baja Mexico in late November ? If so, what was the weather like ? Warm ? Cool ? Was the sailing smooth or in choppy waters ? I am planning a Thanksgiving cruise with family and any helpful information would be appreciated. Thanks
Cruise to Mexico? We will be cruising to Mexico in Nov. and found out we are on deck 3 toward the front of the ship. Does anyone out there know if this part of the ship will make you more sea sick. Getting the middle of the ship I guess is not an option because its all taken up. I do get sea sick very easily. So if it's really bad in that sect. then what are some ideas to reduce being sea sick other than dramamine, I hate the drowsy effect.Thanks.
Cruise to Mexico From Ft. Lauderdale? I am searching for a cruise that will take me to Mexico for my Honeymoon in May. I prefer to go to some historic spots and to explore the Mexican culture. I can't seem to find anything during Memorial Weekend. Please help!
I'm planning to take cruise to Mexico. I'm on H1B visa in USA. Do I need to take Mexican Visa? I am currently working in USA on H1B visa. I plan to take a cruise to Mexico (for 7 days). Do I need to take Mexican visa to visit the places that the cruise ship is planning to touch-down? For e.g, if the cruise ship docks at "Cabo San Lucas" in Mexico, and if I want to get down and roam around the city, do I need to take Mexican visa? Do I have to submit my I-94 while boarding the ship at San Diego? If so, will I get a new I-94 when I re-enter USA after completing the cruise?

Is a passport needed when traveling on a cruise to Mexico? My boyfriend will be going on a cruise from L.A. to Mexico... will he need a passport? Also, my boyfriend doesn't think that he needs one and this cruise is in one month. I told him that I'm pretty sure he needs one but I wanted to clarify because if he does, he will not be able to go on this cruise due to the fact that it takes a few months to recieve your passport after you apply for it. So, if you know the true answer to this question, please advise! Thanks in advance.
Will a US passport be required of US citizens travelling to Mexico on a cruise next spring? I'm going on a cruise with a friend next spring to Mexico. I've had conflicting answers on whether a passport is required, and my local passport office can't (or won't) help- they just say all they do is bundle the forms and mail them off (and their chunk of the $100 fee is $30!). I went to a government website, but it just talked about contraband and air travel. Does anyone know? I really don't need to spend the $100 if it's not necessary. Also, someone said that you need to have either a doctor or lawyer who's known you for at least 2 years sign off verifying your application. I have neither a doctor or a lawyer, so is this true?
Travel Requirements for a Cruise to Mexico? Current status : Permanent Resident of USA although carry Indian passport. Issue : My passport has expired and is in a process of Renewal. Question : Can I still be able to go on a cruise with a valid Green card. Is passport mandatory in this case? The rule mentions that for Permanent Resident , it is not required. However, I need to confirm this. Also would this cause any issue when I am in Mexico? Has anyone been in this situation before.

Carnival Cruise: Can you walk to the Mayan ruins in Cozumel, Mexico without having to pay for a tour? Carnival Cruises: Can you walk to the Mayan ruins in Cozumel, Mexico without having to pay for a tour? (or is it also perhaps too long of a walk on foot?) Trying to figure out if it is possible to get a better experience of the islands than the packaged activities the cruise line offers if we can. Also, any recommendations for which snorkeling shore excursions/spots were neat for those of you who have tried them in Cozumel and Key West, or any other activities to consider?
Can you take a cruise from Mexico to Cuba? I would love to go to Cuba with my boyfriend the next time he goes, but I am American, and I'm also afraid to fly. Is it actually possible to take a cruise ship to Cuba? I was looking at the map the other day and realized that Cancun and Cuba are basically as close as Cuba and Miami! Does anyone know of a cruise ship leaving Mexico that would travel to Cuba, and have you done this? It seems that most cruise companies are from the US...and I know we aren't suppossed to go to Cuba. for rob....cuba won't stamp your passport so you don't have to worry about it...they stamp your tourist visa thingy. although i guess for nostaga, it might be nice to "lose" the passport. hehe
How safe is it to debark in Ensenda, Mexico from a cruise? We're travelling the first week of June with five children, ages 8-17 and would like to go ashore. My ex-husband refuses to sign the waver for us to debark. Is he being paranoid? I know about the recent problems up and down Baja, but can't find anything troubling about Ensenada at all. HELP!
Can you take a Cruise to Mexico without a passport? I'm planning a last minute vacation, and by last minute, I mean the last week of July or first week of August. We don't have valid passports. I heard that if you travel by car or boat, you don't need one. Does this apply to cruises? If not, any ideas for a last minute vacation, whereby you don't need a passport would be appreciated.

There seem to be pretty good deals out there if we book soon! We're both 21, and are looking for a cruise that is not dominated by younger children and senior citizens! We want to have fun and good entertainment (dancing, etc) Has anyone had any good experiences with a certain cruise ship, destination, etc that would suit us? Thanks! :)
