Air travel discounts for minors? Do they exist? I'm flying my grandson home to Seattle from Dallas in June. Will fly back by myself early July. To get all one-ways is about the same difference as 1 round and 1 one-way. When I put in a minor at travelosity or expedia the child ticket is always the same as the adult. Why bother having the child check off if there all tickets are the same.

Can You Believe This Cheap Mexican airlines are taking Mexican right to our border for illegal immigration? MEXICALI, Mexico - Among travelers, it's jokingly known as Aeromigrante - Migrant Air. New discount airlines in Mexico are doing a brisk business shuttling migrants to the U.S. border, turning what was once a days-long trek into an easy hop for legions of workers, both legal and illegal. "It's much more comfortable than the bus and about the same price," said Leopoldo Torres, 37, of Mexico City, as he stretched his legs aboard Volaris Flight 190 to the border city of He and a traveling companion, Julio Menéndez, paid $118 each for the three-hour flight. They planned to cross into the United States illegally through the California desert. Such migrants have become bread-and-butter customers for airlines Volaris, Avolar, Alma, Viva Aerobus, Interjet and Click, all of which have started up in the past two years. Older carriers such as Aero California and Aviacsa have cut their own prices to compete. "The most productive routes we have are cities where you have those passengers who are traveling with the idea of the American Dream," said Luis Ceceña, a spokesman for Avolar. About 70 percent of Avolar's passengers are migrants, he said. For some airlines like Avolar, the emphasis on migrant travel was a conscious decision, with company officials structuring their routes and fares around migrants' needs, he said. For others, it was simply a side effect of low prices, which have opened up air travel to millions of poorer Mexicans. The airlines say they treat migrants like any other passengers. The Mexican government has promised to try to slow emigration by creating jobs in Mexico. But by law, Mexican authorities and companies cannot impede the free travel of their fellow citizens, even if they suspect they are going to cross the U.S. border illegally. Heading for the desert Travelers planning to cross illegally are easy to spot. At the Hermosillo airport, a major crossroads for migrants headed to the Arizona desert, they are the men traveling in groups of three and four, wearing new sneakers or hiking boots and carrying nothing but backpacks. "Altar! Naco! Nogales!" taxi dispatcher Javier Montaño shouted outside the airport as he directed travelers to vans headed to the main staging grounds for illegal border crossers. Because of the increased traffic, Mexican immigration agents now check the IDs of all arriving passengers, even on domestic flights, to try to catch Central American migrants headed to the border. In Hermosillo, federal police conduct spot checks on the vans before they leave the airport. "By law, we can't stop the Mexican (migrants)," police Officer Carlos Zequera Arias said. "But the Central Americans are starting to get on these flights, too." Falling prices Until the flood of discount airlines began in 2005, air travel in Mexico was too expensive for most poor Mexicans. A one-way flight from central Mexico to Tijuana ran $300 or more on the country's two flag carriers, Aeromexico and Mexicana. For most migrants, getting to the border meant days of travel on long-distance buses - or for the very poor, a harrowing and illegal ride on Mexico's railways while clinging to a freight car. The discount airlines cut costs by copying the business model of U.S. carrier Southwest Airlines. They fly out of smaller airports, make several stops on the same trip, bypass travel-agent fees by selling directly to customers, and concentrate on a few high-volume routes instead of a hub-and-spoke system. Typical fares to Tijuana from Toluca, just east of Mexico City, are now around $150 on the discount airlines. That has opened up air travel to millions of new customers, said José Calderoni, marketing director for Volaris. About one-third of the airline's passengers have never flown before, he said. Overall, the number of Mexicans flying has jumped 36 percent since 2004. About 13.4 million people took domestic flights from January to June, according to Mexico's Institute of Statistics, Geography and Information Processing. The discount airlines have been adding planes and routes at a breakneck pace. Avolar has grown from one jetliner and three destinations to nine with 16 destinations. Viva Aerobus has 21 destinations and plans to double its fleet to 10 jets from five. Interjet has nine planes and says it will order 20 more. Alma has 15 regional jets and 25 destinations, Volaris has 12 planes and 17 destinations, while Click has 26 destinations with 18 planes and six on order. I need air travel advice.? In early Oct. I'll be needing to fly from Tucson, AZ to El Paso, Tx and want to know of any discounts, or suggestions. What's the absolute best and economical (not too risky, though, will be traveling with two children 7& 12) way to go? Southwest seems cheapest, but are there other ways I can get discounts? Thanks! One more thing: I for sure want the kind of tickets that I am guaranteed seats, not the kind where there "may not be any available seating"
Can you help me with airline discount codes? I will be traveling by air at the end of January with my 2.5 year old child from Texas to Arizona, and am looking for some discounted flights. I looked online at the discount websites, but the lowest price I could find is about $430.00. Does anyone know any promotions codes to help discount a ticket? Ive tried Southwest Airlines, their lowest fare was over $600 Ive tried Kayak also, lowest was about $430 I am looking for any discount promotion code that airlines offer to help reduce the fare
I am from South Carolina? I heard on the radio of a travel website to get discount air travel for $300.00 a year. I forgot the website. I think it starts off like this, Carolina traveler or something like that. Can someone please tell me the correct website. Thanks
Is travel to Europe in late February worth it? I'm looking to utilize some air miles I have earned and noticed that if I travel to Europe in late February I can get a discount. I would be traveling to London, Dublin, and Amsterdam. I'll be able to save 30-40% of my miles if I do the trip within that time frame, which would allow enough miles for another trip in the future -- but at the same I don't want to make the trip if the weather is terrible and makes it less enjoyable to do activites while out there. Thanks in advance!
getting cheap domestic and international air fare? what are the best ways to get cheap air fares .is website a good option or local travel agents? can you recommend me some good search sites apart from kayak and sidestep. What forms of employment give more opportunities for TRAVEL? I know one way is to work for fedex loading boxes. (Flight discounts.) Another way is to join the air force. (Fly free.) Are there other ways which I haven't mentioned? What are good jobs to get into that can help an individual receive the opportunity to travel?
How can I travel around Europe inexpensively? I am starting out in Amsterdam and then trying to make my way down to the Mediterranean coast (Spain, France, Italy, or the Greek isles...anywhere warm, relaxing, and not too touristy--I'm open to suggestions BTW) so I'm wondering what the cheapest way to travel is. Eurail, discount airlines (Ryan Air, EasyJet, Sterling, etc), renting a car...? My budget is around $250 (USD) per person, round trip (about 160 Euro). Any suggestions, experiences, or tips would be appreciated. $250 = my transportation budget, not my complete budget.
Do I have to use an approved car/booster seat on Alaska Airlines? I am booked on a flight on Alaska Airlines next year with my 1.5 year old. He is flying on a full fare adult ticket not a discounted infant fare (usually 1/2 price). Both our tickets are points tickets (Perth through to Vancouver on Qantas then Alaska AL). Qantas does not require a booster seat for children in their own seat, even if they are under 2 (ie. infants) so I was not planning on bringing a car seat as I am travelling alone and will have enough to carry as it is. I read on the Alaska AL website that "children travelling on 50% infant ticket seats must use a booster/car seat approved for car and air travel". I'm wondering, given that my son will be travelling on a full fare adult ticket whether he needs the booster seat? What will they do if I don't have one, not let us on the flight? Or, shall I just lie and say he's 2 - or just board the flight with him in his own seat w/out booster and they will assume is is two and not longer an infant and therefore no booster required.

Travel from Mumbai to Goa? I'm going to be in India in June and my international flight will reach Mumbai around midnight. I need to go to Goa and would prefer to travel by air. I am informed that only Indian Airlines has an early morn(5.20 a.m) flight on a Sunday(I'm reaching on a Sunday). We are 4 passengers and I was wondering if we could book our tickets by cash once we reach Mumbai. Also need to know if there are any special discounted fares. thanks.
Does Anyone Know Any West Jet / Air Canada Coupon Codes I can use? I am booking a round trip from Vancouver to Toronto Departing April 26 and Returning May 3. I am just curious if anyone has had any luck looking for or finding coupon/promo codes which i could use to book this flight with West Jet or Air Canada. Cheap Air and Hotel Rates? I'm planning a trip to Honolulu, HI, for early to mid- January. It's been difficult for me because I have no previous traveling experience (i.e., never flown, never covered such a long distance! *I live in NJ*). All of my search results online have been similar, plus I don't have anything in the way of student discount or frequent flier mile privileges. Does anyone have any helpful references, information, or experiences they can share with me? All suggestions are appreciated.

Discount airfares?? I've already looked into Orbitz, CheapTickest, Travelzoo and Southwest...no luck! too expensive. I'm planning to travel on the lastweek of September...please let me know if theres another way to get air fares on a cheaper price
Are you looking for CHEAP Airline tickets??? Ok...here's the deal. Everyone seems to ask the same question 10,000 times...so here is the answer. You can start with the travel websites to compare and see what the airlines are offering. ALWAYS go directly to the airlines website to compare. Usually you can find better deals and avoid booking fee's. Also you will have a better choice of schedules and connections as well as non-stop flights. BEWARE of websites that advertise cheap or discounted fares. These are potential traps. These websites have restrictions on their tickets above what the airlines are. They are not changable for any reason and if there is a problem the airline will not touch them. Air travel is cheaper than ever and barely pays the cost to fuel the plane in the gate. So...quit asking where to find it and go look yourself. Find the airports website to see what airlines service the city you are departing from. Not all airlines use these travel sites like Southwest and Jet Blue for example. Ive used Kayak, Booking Buddy and other aggreigate sites and I still find better deals on the airlines website. Start with Orbitz, its owned by the airlines. Then go to the airlines website. Vacation packages can also be purchased through the airlines themselves as well and sometimes are cheaper and have better options. You have more flexibility booking with the airline itself should something come up and you need to change your flights for any reason. Pay attention to booking fee's if you use a travel site. Some rip you off!! You will NEVER pay these fees on any airlines site. Most are charging ticketing charges for calling reservations to book/pay or if you go to the ticket counter as well. If you are travel or computer illeterate and would like some help finding fares or flights, send me an e-mail and ill see what i can find. Include the cities, dates and a budget you are trying to stay in. I'll see what i can find and send you in the right direction. Sometimes Southwest is cheaper, but you have to act early to get their super cheap fares. Most times I find better deals on the major airlines. Book 30 days in advanced to have the best option for the discounted fares. The closer to departure time the more expensive the fare will be. If the flights fill up, expect to pay closer to a full fare. There are discounted First Class Fares that are sometimes cheaper or not much more than coach, so keep that in mind when looking especially if you are last minute shopping. And...CHEAP can come at a cost when it comes to the restrictions on these travel sites and be more hassle than its worth. There really isnt anything secret about fares. There are several offered, once the cheaper ones sell out...they go to the next fare level...its pretty simple. So...book early to have access to these fares. When booking, always choose non-stop, the fare difference usually isnt that much. It prevents any delays along the way or risk losing or delay or baggage. Saving $50 for a connection isnt worth it in the long run. You lose half a day in travel and then you'll spend more money because you will be buying food or shopping, well most of us do anyway. Try not to mix and match airlines especially if you check baggage, thats where it falls through the cracks. NEVER book Southwest and another airline to connect. They do not have ticketing or baggage agreements with any airline and if one flight is delayed, you are on your own for a back up. The fare sales will normally be out of high tourist cities and hubs like Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Cincinatti etc. Smaller cities that are the spokes dont go on sale. Know what airports are around your or within a driving radius. Check them as well. IF the cost of gas will supplement the difference in fares, consider those options as well. Also, know what airports are close to you incase there is a delay and you can be rerouted as a back up to get you to your destination or back home. For example San Francisco is co-terminals with Oakland and San Jose. Flying in and out of Toronto, you can save $100 in International fee's on top of the fare difference by flying out of Buffalo or making the treck to Detroit. Just weigh the cost of fuel vs the difference in fare cost. I stress going to the airports website to see who services that airport. Again, several low cost carriers do not participate in these travel sites b/c their fares are discounted enough, or so they think. And finally, no matter what website you use ALWAYS READ THE FARE RULES so you know what you are agreeing to before you pay for it. Yelling at the ticket agent, "I wasnt told that!" does you no good when its in writing, you just chose not to read it. Yes an airline can charge you for an extra seat if you obviously take up the size of more than one seat. Not all of them are strict about enforcing it because its a sticky situation. Southwest does however enforce this rule to the letter of their rules. Lost baggage...the airline has 7 days before you are entitled to any compensation. After 24 hrs, you can get $25 a day for necessities...not a full wardrobe. Wheels and handles are not covered as damaged items if they break off and yes your bag will get dirty or wet if its raining. Lock your bags and place a copy of your itinerary inside with all contact info including phone numbers and addresses. Check out the airlines contract of carriage if you feel you got bad service.

Last last minute deals on air fare? My wife and I would like to travel somewhere this weekend. She gets off of work today at 5pm and we are willing to go to the airport, with our bags packed and fly pretty much anywhere. I remember a long time ago, different flights would DEEPLY discount their tickets if you were there like an hour before take off. Do they still do that? Can anyone recommend how I could go about getting the cheapest flight prices for this weekend? way! they use to be called X-fares and they were primarily used by college kids and transient types that could fly at the drop of the hat. my buddy flew somewhere for $99 when the ticket was orginially $400. sure, he had to wear a flight attendant uniform or something, but who cares.
Cheap trip from Neb to England in July? Looking for deals on rail & air; we're in our mid-20s and not students Hey there! I'm an intrepid traveler who's looking to bring my boyfriend to England this summer (we're especially considering Joust, a big medieval festival in Gloustershire, if anyone knows anything about that). Of course, prices are murderous during July because it's high tourist season - but there's got to be some way around that or nobody would be traveling to the UK at all, right? I'm especially appalled by how much Britrail has gone up in price, and since that's my preferred way of getting around the UK, I'm kinda freaked about how I'm gonna make this work, if at all. He's 25, by the bye, and would still qualify for the youth discount, but I'm ancient at 26, apparently...Help? I was hoping to get the 8-day pass but as it's virtually double the price of the 4-day (I know, big surprise), that's not looking even remotely possible. Suggestions from other cheapskates, please!!! Elisabeth

Airline re-scheduled/canceled flight, anything I can do? I was scheduled to make a flight with US Airways leaving at 5:45 AM, making a 40-minute layover, and arriving at my destination at 1:19 PM. I've had these reservations since 2/20. I was just called yesterday by the travel agency letting me know that US Air changed their schedule, making it impossible for me to make my connecting flight. They told me I could either cancel for a refund or change to a flight that left at 12:25 AM and still got there at the same time, with a 4-hour layover somewhere else. Those are TERRIBLE times for us, especially since we live 3-1/2 hours from the airport and I don't do well without sleep. When I looked into getting a refund and re-booking with another airline, the tickets have now DOUBLED. We can't change or cancel our reservations as we are staying at a resort. Do I have any options here? If I contact US Airways, is there any chance they'd give me an upgrade or discount on a future flight or anything else I can do? Also, the flight isn't leaving until June so there's no way it was canceled due to weather and the cost was $940 (2 tickets); now the going rate for 2 tickets is over $1800.
Joke: The Farting guide? The art of farting is practiced by many, perfected by few. Perfecting the art of farting is a somewhat long, difficult but rewarding road to travel down. It is the symphony of foods and body function that causes this reaction we all long to occur. This guide teaches you the methods and mind set used by some of the worlds leading fartology organizations. 1. Your mood will play a major role in farting. Having an "I can't do it!" frame of mind will not accomplish anything. When it comes down to those final moments when its release or hold time, you just have to repeat again and again, "Just let it happen... its ok..." 2. Diet is another heavy influencer. If you're a grazer (or vegetarian as they preferred to be called) you're partly on your way. If you're older and are using shit assistance substances such as prune juice, you too have a good start. The real winners are your average North American men. Statistically Sunday is prime time nation wide for fart releases. Not only fart releases, but the cream of the crop, wake up the neighbours farts. Why is this? Have a look at the diet of a typical American male aged between 20 and 30 watching football on TV... Peanuts, chips, beer, can someone say, fart city? Its about evaluating your diet, removing the foods that don't assist farting, and focusing on the ones that do. 3. Important, yet largely unexplored scientifically is the fart event position and location. These two variables can make or break a fart taking it from a stellar world class event, down to an unmentionable discouragement. Try telling a world class pianist that they must perform standing, or telling a tuba player he must lay down during their performance. Farting is no different, it requires positioning that best maximizes the bodies ability to expel gas. Location of the fart event sets the scene and adds emotions such as amusement (elevator farts), excitement (bus farts) and challenge (church farts). Lets travel forth and delve into the world of position and location... Leg Lift "Elevator" Position Standing upright with a slight curve to the back, lift either leg (almost like doing the jig, except with your leg off to the side - never to the front) and allow the fart event to occur. This one is by far the most popular. Ranked best position for elevator farts for its ability to expel farts quickly and accurately between floors. The signature of a leg lifter in an elevator is the smile of glee on their face as they exit, as you unknowingly enter. Pros: Amusement of only being able to guess how many floors the unknowing new occupants must endure. High buildings that you will most likely not visit again are a bonus. Cons: After a successful execution of the fart, you leave the elevator and the unknowing others enter, which is fine. However, you realize you are on the wrong floor and must re-enter the same elevator. Truly a bad call. "Imperial" Throne Position Just a reminder that your mind associates this position with a lack of bodily control. This one involves sitting, squatting or bending down into a huddled position. Some of the worlds most fermented and catastrophic farts were achieved using this very position. Think of it as a game of leap frog, but without the leaping (or at least voluntarily). Pros: Incredible leverage, captures the true potential of the fart. Cons: Similar to when taking a shit, which could confuse mind and cause "dyer" consequences. This one in the car in a new suit on route to a job interview is not recommended. Wal-Mart Fart Position There have been so many reports of this position and its success of creating "brown air" that have won it accolades world wide. Shop as you normally would at Wal-Mart. Locate a desired purchase (at least the weight of say, a clothes detergent box) at the bottom shelf in an unoccupied isle. As you are lifting the heavy load in a squatting position, let the magic happen. You will be pleasantly surprised. At first you may point out the similarities to the throne position, but you will be in awe by what the additional weight load achieves. Weight lifters doing squats after a heavy meal know how well weight can affect fartage potency and volume. Pros: Due to the narrow, almost encapsulating design of the isles, farts can remain lingering for hours after initial production. Many more people can enjoy their shopping due to your efforts versus the leg lift position. Cons: Eager and usually frantic discount shoppers change isles with a furor only matched by 9am shoppers at a department store boxing day blow out sale. This can result in a by standard surprise attack and the very terrible mission abort consequence. Power Arching Lean your hands onto a counter top or table (or if available, hang onto your towel rack) while arching your back. If this is difficult for you to visualize, think back to your last visit to the car repair shop. Similar to the "ass pounding" position you take when getting the quote to have your car's transmission replaced. Power arching is excellent for "customer service" counters at department stores; local Radio Shack stores when reaching over and examining an expensive and ridiculous keychain that has a flashlight, time telling in 12 languages, compass and calculator all in one; a supermarket you do not usually visit. Pros: The arching of the back allows your power conduit to be fully utilized. Less conspicuous than the Throne Position. Cons: A warning to people with small houses or apartments: power arching in the small confines of a room in your house has been known to cause carpet, wall and even ceiling damage. Even more so, lasting damage to newly blossoming relationships with girlfriends and not so blossoming marriages. All positions and locations have their pros and cons, it is the duty of an aspiring fart master to leverage the situations and environments available to him or her. With a bit of thoughtful planning you can start off the day with some power arching in the library; do a bit of leg lifting at the food court for lunch; and wind up the day with an all out assault on your senses with a satisfying throne position fart in the car on the way home. Remember, its all about position, location and a "can-do" attitude! hahaha, smila. are you tired of your life, coz shes gonna slap yer
How much in advance should you book your flight to get the cheapest air fare? I am traveling to NJ from GA for a family reunion. I need to be in NJ no later than Thursday, July 31. I was going to book my flight today (July 16) because I was told that most airlines require a two week advance booking for the best fares, also I have found that if you travel on Wedsnesdays the fares are cheaper. However, someone told me that most airlines have sales on Thursdays. However, that would only give me a 13 day advance booking. I have also been told that some airlines now only require a 7 to 10 day advance booking for the best fares. I'm getting a little confused with so much information. Also, could you supply some good web sites to find discount airfares. So far, cheapo-air seems to be the best one. Thanks.

what is the best mac laptop for me? I do not know much about computers, but i do know i need one, and i get a discount from apple, (otherwise i wouldn't be getting it). The problem is i don't know which one i should get, there is the macbook, the pro, and the air. I'm hoping for it to last me a while (through college). I will be minoring in graphic arts, and majoring in business. I don't want it to be extremely heavy as i do travel a lot, but i also don't want to have to carry around external hard drives...and i do like watching movies and playing games.....which one would you reccomend?
air travel question? does anyone know approximately what airlines charge for an infant (over 2 years old)? She cant be held as a lap baby anymore because of her age. I was just wondering how much of a discount they give -- if any. thanks
When should I buy plane tickets from the US to Europe for December travel? I going to travel to Europe this December and am unsure as to the best time to buy tickets. I am flying from Washington, DC to Luxembourg, Luxembourg to London, and London back to Washington, DC. I looked into tickets on discount sites and the entire trip is around $1100 but the times and airports are random. I then looking into Air France and the times were amazing but the flight bumps up to $1550. I am eager to buy my plane tickets but I wasn't too sure if it was too early. I think I'd die if I spent $1500 and a few weeks later Air France jumps down to $1000. Any help would be appreciated!!
Supply/Demand economics question? What would happen to a regular supply/demand graph for air travel: a) A decrease in landing fees b) A big discount for round-trip TRAIN travel which curve would shift and which way?
