Where do you get the best last minute travel deals? I LOVE to grab my backpack and travel! I have some discretionary income and lots of free time and flexibility in my schedule. Where are the best places to search if you want to go somewhere soon for a great price? It seems like most "last minute deals" aren't much of a deal, and that others are simply advertising scams. Thanks!
Best last minute travel deals from Canada? Can anyone recommend a really good website for last minute travel deals from Canada. Looking to go anywhere in the Carribean, 1 week (all-inclusive if possible) for under $650. Already tried Expedia, Itravel2000 and Exit.ca Thanks
Last minute travel? Which website is the absolute BEST place to get great last minute travel deals/packages (from Dayton/Columbus/Cincinnati/Indianapolis)??
Why aren't there many good packaged travel deals from Houston to Europe at a good price?? I mena seriously, when I look online for Travel Deals or Last Minute travel they all seem to leave from JFK, Chicago, Miami, or LAX. Is IAH in Houston not one of the largest International Airports in America?? Travel companies needs ot start catering. All I see are trips to Mexico and you can only go to Mexico so many times. Does anyone know of any websites that cater to Texans (or surrounding states) with packaged travel deals when traveling Abroad???
Where can I find excellent last minute deals for 3-4 nights departing from NYC this Christmas? I have 5 days off work from Dec 23-27 and I'll be traveling with my gf, we prefer to go somewhere warm and would like to spend around $350 per person. I already checked 'last minute vacation' specials on airlines websites and travelocity, expedia, orbitz, etc.. but didn't see anything good. Oh and we can travel ANYWHERE in the world, it doesn't matter if it's cold, anywhere besides Central US and New England.
What is the best website to find all-inclusive travel or cruise deals from Canada? I am looking to go on a trip (cruise or resort) in the Caribbean in early September 2006... looking for a good last minute deal leaving from Ottawa or Toronto Canada. I am wondering if there are any websites that I am not aware of that offer these deals. I am familiar with tripadvisor, conquest, belairdirect, itravel2000. Thanks!
Cheaper to book now or get a last minute deal, Magaluf (Magalluf) July? Hi, im going to Magaluf in mid July, peak season i know. I'm wondering would it be better to book asap or wait until the last few weeks and book a last minute deal then? Any ideas on who and how i should book the holiday aswell, travel agent, teletext or the internet. Any help appreciated, but basically the main question is my concern.
Why are airfares still going up? Ever since the Holiday rush, air prices are continuing to rise, shouldn't the prices come down after the Holiday rush? Anyone know any good sites for last minute travel deals?
Anybody know good websites for buying cheap airline tickets? I've checked out orbitz. Not bad but not great either--it definitely sucks for last minute deals. Know any other decent websites, incluing one's for last minute travel? BTW, I'm looking to travel to Thailand AshO--tried it. not cheap. But thanks
Who Deserves Better Prices? People with Advance bookings or Last Min. Bookings? I'm curious on how people feel about this subject. In the past it has been where several people could get last minute deals. This is somewhat the case still, except the airlines did this and to many people waited last minute thus one of the reasons most domestic carriers are in bankruptcy status. I for one am all for the people that plan in advance getting the better prices and fortunately the travel industry is changing towards this. It is all in about re-training travelers to not wait last min. It will take some time, but eventually travelers will understand the changes. I often get asked, wouldn't they want to at least "fill the empty seats to get something". In the past, yes they did thats why they had the last min deals, but again it got the airlines in major financial trouble! They were/are actually losing money doing it this way. Look forward to reading everyones thoughts/opinions on this! Travel Specialist - 8 Years Hushnow, thanks for your post. I think you were misunderstanding what I was trying to ask. There is not standby any longer, that is a thing of the past. You say the airlines pay the same amount so why not make money on the unfilled seats. The problem is too many people got used to "last min cheap deals" and that is the airlines fault, yes. However they are changing this. For flights of people who are unable to plan in advance due to a funeral those are called bereavement fares to make the ticket price reasonable for the person. Unfortunately from your reply, it tells me just how many misunderstandings there really are out there with travel. What I was trying to ask is how people feel about the last min. deals virtually out the window? I mean it isn't that you won't be able to get good prices just that planning a vacation in advance will be the better way to go for prices.
Why do people wait untilt he last minute to book there trips? I know this is part of the business but as a travel agent i get great deals and don't charge a fee. When I give my clients the price they are happy because it is so low but they wait days sometimes weeks before they say "ok I'm ready to book" then the price is almost double. Then I loose the sale because now its too high. If the price is good, why not pay your deposit then. Why do people wait until the last minute? customerservice@intriguedtravel.com http://www.intriguedtravel.com
Cheap Hotel Downtown Chicago-this weekend? Hi there, I am looking for a cheap hotel (under $200) Downtown Chicago, I would prefer the Loop, Magnificent Mile, or Theater District. Any recommendations? Any site that has last-minute deals? (I am traveling this Friday-Saturday) Thanks for the answers, guys, I found a great (brand new, 4-star) hotel for $169. I discovered the trick is to skip travelocity, hotels.com, etc., and go straight to the hotel company source, in this case Marriott.com.
Travel Gift Certificate? Anyone know where to purchase a gift certificate to sites like Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, etc...? Or an Amex/Visa/MC gift card for $5,000??? I know Travelocity only offers GC for last minute deals and/or hotels only. And anything for Amex has a max limit. Anyone??? Thanks :)
Irish Travel Agencies? Could anybody give me some websites to last minute deals from Ireland to Spain, Greece, Canary Islands? Thank you
want to travel this holiday season from Toronto to South on very limited budget? Has anyone ever gotten a last minute deal South on Christmas week? I live in Toronto and it is freezing and I need to get away. I am looking to go to Mexico or Dominican or something near those two countries. Can't be Cuba as my husband does not have a passport. It has to be all inclusive. It would be 2 adults and 2 kids under 12. If you could tell me which airline you got it from and how quickly you had to fly, I would really appreciate it. Thank you. we all have Canadian Citizen cards. I heard that my husband is fine if he travels straight to these counties and does not stop in the States and have a connecting flight. We go to the States all the time with just our Canadian Citizen cards but do not take flights from in there. Cuba definitely needs a passport but D.Republic and Mexico do not. My husband does have a Mexican passport. He is from there. Thank you to everyone that answers just wanted to give more info. we can't fly out of the States because my husband would need a passport. I know those rules I would like to know if anyone had success getting a last minute special during Christmas.
Lodging in Disneyland, CA? Do anyone have any information on descent hotel names near Disneyland? And also if you have some site that offer the last minute deals.... We are family travelling with 2 kids, 17 yr and 9 yr. Thanks guys We are going this weekend... I guess.
Travel insurance? We are due to go to America for a family gathering in March 2008 - we have to book our tickets now due to a very good deal going on. Would a travel insurance cover us if that celebration was to be cancelled or if I couldn’t travel at the last minute?( me and my partner are trying for a baby and supposedly I am now 8-9 month pregnant by that time and can't travel ) Sorry I didn't mean to put 8-9 months pregnant "now", I meant being 8-9 months by the time we are due to travel
Can someone please offer advice on booking a discounted last minute vacation? My husband and I are looking to travel somewhere hot/sunny at the end of April or early May. We don't really care where we go, except we don't want to have more than a 4 hour flight from Toronto area, it needs to be 5 star with good food, somewhere on a beach. We are flexible re: location and which day to leave (+/- 2 days). Can anyone recommend a good website to go through and offer advice on how to get the best trip for our money. Also does anyone know of places that offer a good deal for a 5 day trip rather than a 7day? Thanks
What's the best site to find last minute plane tix? Does anyone have info on which airlines are still offering these deals and how I can get on the lists ?
Good inexpensive Mexico trip from San Antonio TX? I live in San Antonio, TX and would like to take a trip to a nice but inexpensive destination in Mexico. I am looking at last minute deals for the next couple of weeks. I would also consider guided bus tours into Mexico, but I don't want to drive into Mexico myself. I will be accompanied by my husband. We are just looking to stay 2 or 3 days, see some historic or natural sights, and head back home. Suggestions, and for those of you in San Antonio, any travel agency recommendations?
Help in booking trip to France..? I am trying to book a trip to Paris and I don't want to pay an arm & a leg. I've tried all the travel sites and the lowest price was $1400. I don't want to pay more than $400. I know sometimes they offer last minute deals but I can't book something like that because of work. Any ideas where I can book a trip to Paris for 4-7 days for $400 w/ air fare & hotel??
Cheapest time to fly to Thailand? I'm hoping to visit Thailand this September. Hopefully I'll be able to get a cheap last minute deal as I'm not wanting to spend a huge amount. Can anyone recommend a good travel agent/airline that would fly us to Bangkok cheaply? I thought it would be better to get a flight only so we can travel around at our own leisure. However I would consider a 2 centre holiday if I could stay in central locations such as Bangkok and Phuket and be able to use them as my base for travelling around. I'm very grateful for any suggestions and tips. I live in the UK btw.
Will I have fun in Bermunda? So I was looking for a good last minute deal for this weekend and booked a weekend trip to Bermuda. I just needed to get away for a weekend. Have had a pretty tough and stressful 9 months. I Think its a pretty good deal (3 nights hotel + flight for $430) Good deal, average or did I just get owned by travelocity? I am 23/male and will be staying at Grape Bay Beach Hotel. I have never been to Bermuda, let alone on a vacation alone but I love to party and will talk to pretty much anyone. I have travel experience including a 7 week long volunteer-tourism in Costa Rica. But I've heard mixed reviews about Bermuda. Does anyone know about the hotel I'm staying at? Any suggestions on places to go, things to do etc in Bermuda....And most importantly....WILL I HAVE FUN?

CT woman wants to take 4 day vacation in early January-where should I go? I am a 31 year old female that would like to take a short 4 day trip by plane somewhere before I start a new job? I also do not want to spend tons of money. I live in CT but I am willing to fly out of NYC or Bradley or Newburgh? Any thoughts other than Florida or California? I am willing to leave the country or stay in the US? I am also not a skier or winter sports enthusiast and I would be traveling alone. I am open to a spa, sightseeing, etc- I am open to all ideas. In addition, if you know any websites to go to for cheap last minute deals. Thanks so much for your help and enjoy your holidays.

Do you book holidays last minute and does it work out cheaper? I did ask this on travel but no replies yet so thought perhaps a parent could help. I haven't travelled abroad for many years and could use advice on getting a good deal. I'm based in UK and want to go to Crete in August. Family of 2 adults and 3 children(aged 10, 14 and 16). Price wise do you think I'm better waiting for a last minute or buying now? Are prices likely to go down?
Good jobs for a student who LOVES to travel? Okay, so here's the deal, I'm a part-time student who absolutely loves to travel and I could probably jump on a plane at the last minute and go somewhere for a night or two, but I have literally NO idea what type of jobs you can do this with. I have been told consulting, sales, etc. but those sound like things you have to be graduated and out of school to do. Anyone have any ideas?
Can anyone recommend anything off the beatern track at Alanya, Turkey? I usually holiday somewhere remote or where I can "mix" with the local people/food/language, we've booked this last minute "package" deal and while i know we're going to be in the centre of tourist-ville, I'd really like some tips about where to go to get "out of it" and see Turkey without travelling miles. Any tips? We'll hire a scooter and I'll be dragging my bloke to the archaeological sites. I'm an artist and photographer, so any tips on where to go for inspiration would be brilliant too. Many thanks, guys.
Last last minute deals on air fare? My wife and I would like to travel somewhere this weekend. She gets off of work today at 5pm and we are willing to go to the airport, with our bags packed and fly pretty much anywhere. I remember a long time ago, different flights would DEEPLY discount their tickets if you were there like an hour before take off. Do they still do that? Can anyone recommend how I could go about getting the cheapest flight prices for this weekend? way! they use to be called X-fares and they were primarily used by college kids and transient types that could fly at the drop of the hat. my buddy flew somewhere for $99 when the ticket was orginially $400. sure, he had to wear a flight attendant uniform or something, but who cares.
Me and my wife want to travel sometime during the week of Dec 13th, and return no later than Dec 19th.? We live 200 miles south of Chicago, and are only requirement is we want to go somewhere warm and nice for December. We really don’t can’t we just want warm nice weather, and ocean view, so a resort or a cruise would work. Do you think we could get a better last minute deal, or book ahead? We don’t travel often so any advice appreciated. We do have passports, and looking at max a 4 night stay somewhere. I should have added we don't want to spend more then around $750 per person for the trip expenses. We plan on about another $700 set aside for stuff to do on the trip. Somewhere like Hawaii is not reasonable for us, because the flight would be so long, and we only want to stay max 4 nights.
holiday in japan / HK? i was wondering.... in travel agents they have last minute deals to places for really cheap, if you left it last minute can you get cheaper holidays to japan or HK ?? (im from the UK btw :)
Last minute deals... any good websites other than the obvious ones? We are a family of 4 and suddenly have a couple of weeks free and can travel for a week anytime between 12 and 18 july, which means before the big rush. I had hoped to find a good all-inclusive deal but the prices seem much the same now as they usually are. Apart from the obvious last minute dot com and travel supermarket, along with the travel agents own sites I didn't know if there was some other site that would be good. I can't believe that hotels and flights would rather be empty than sell the places and I don't really mind where we go as long as there is sun, sea and good food! the mian school holidays in UK do not start until the end of July - my kids break up 2 weeks before the other schools and so there is a big difference in costs between going now and going at the end of the month. *main! not mian... this is for holidays from UK - not US yes but scottish holiday makers don't usually fly from Gatwick and all the southern schools are still in school until 22-25 July
holiday in japan / hk? i was wondering.... in travel agents they have last minute deals to places for really cheap, if you left it last minute can you get cheaper holidays to japan or HK ?? (im from the UK btw :)
Which offers better travel deals? I've seen really good offers for both advance booking AND last minute travel deals. Which of the two generally offers better deals? This question applies for both flights and hotel booking.
Best places to travel to in September?? I am thinking of going on a trip next month, a last minute decision. Does anyone have any advice on places to visit this time of year, or where I can find some last minute deals. I live in Canada, if that helps. Thanks!
Last Minute Trips Online.? What are some good sites for last minute deals? Also, I want to go away on vacation for either a week or two during the month of December/January. What time during those months would be the cheapest to travel? (ie, right before christmas, right after?)
A quick question about Travelocity and other such sites...? I recently went on to Travelocity to book one of their last minutes deals. Its Monday and I want to travel this Friday and return Sunday. My question is. Is it better to wait until as close as possible to my departure date for the cheapest price? Or does the price generally go up the closer you get to the departure date? Please advice.
How do you find the great travel deals? My boyfriend and I are looking to take a vacation over the summer (toward the end of July) to somewhere tropical (Caribbean, Mexico). I've tried google searching and using a variety of travel websites, but I cannot find anything reasonable. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to find good travel deals? We prefer to book a bit in advance, as we don't want to wait until the last minute.
Poll - How do you make travel plans? Search online for best rates? What sites? Book with same hotel / airline every time? Use a travel agent? Wait for last minute deals? You don't have to pick one of the above, but please let me know your usual method of making travel plans. I am in the industry and am curious how most arrangements are made. If you use websites, please specify which ones. Thank You!
