Is Global Resorts Network better than YTB as both are travel businesses? I joined global resorts then found ytb. YTB seems to be an excellent business, but for last minute travel. It concentrates on hotel vacations, has an upfront cost & monthly fee. But I loved their owner's speech on the travel biz, & their site is excellent. Global Resorts Network is very new on the net, started dec 06. Its affiliated with a company that has been in business 20 years.. its the marketing arm. It has a onetime fee only, no monthly fees. Plus their market is different ... grn concentrates on luxury travel to 4 & 5 star resorts worldwide (though it covers hotels & does cruises & travel same as YTB) But you can book in advance with GRN (as well as up to 72 hours before a trip).They encourage you to call them for special arrangements. How can I get more people to travel to Thailand? My Thai wife and I run a small travel business (TBF Travel) that offers custom and guided luxury adventure travel trips to Thailand. What type of business is good? I am going to college soon and would like to major in business to someday graduate and have a successful and good job. I was wondering what options there are in business that I could pursue. I want to make a very good living, so I can live comfortably and support myself and not live pay check to pay check and still have a few luxuries like travel and such. Why the luxury? I saw a television evangelist a few months ago hassling people to donate money so that he could buy a private jet. If people donated enough, he promised to put their name on a plaque in the prayer room at the back of the jet. While he was asking for this, he sat in a room full of luxurious antique furniture. Then they showed footage of him hyping up a crowd and and going through a very transparent round of "healing" people. Isn't travelling business class on a commercial jet good enough if he wants to spread God's word? Does owning lavish antiques make him heal better? Personally, I think the act was so obvious that I can't help but question his sincerity.
Travel lodge? ....Valentines? Wats it like?......any1 kno? Right this is about my 4th valentines related post but im getting there! Because at first we planned to have valentines at my BF house I haven't booked anything but now we cant do that as there will be builders working! So as its my turn to arrange something im goin to book a hotel. But because I have left it late all the local hotels are fully booked! The only place I can get for Valentines night is a Travel Lodge and it hardly sounds romantic ! May be im just thinking this because i only know business men on quick trips that stay there purely for convinience! I need to know how much it will cost me for 5 days in Hong Kong? I need to go to Hong Kong and want to stay near the Hong Kong Convention Center. I need two seperate rooms and require that the hotel be with American Standards. Can someone tell me how much I should expect to pay for a) Hotel stay for 5 nights per room-mid priced business hotel & luxury b) Eating out - fast food, sit down lunch, best restaurants for dinner meeting.... c) Anything else one would do on travel. Have you staid at the Westin Las Vegas (Casuarina) ? My husband is staying there on business, the hotel choice made by the company travel department for reason of having a discount I guess; he had no choice. My husband has only been to Vegas once, many many years ago, and he had to stay at some little cheap hotel, which was bug infested. I'm sure the Westin is better than that, but the other guys he is traveling with for business, say that the Westin isn't great. Now I read reviews that their elevators are ALWAYS having problems. Anyone with experience staying there? I know it's slightly off of the strip, I know it's not a luxury hotel (no theme etc), and I know the pool is relatively small.
Have any one traveled on Etihad Airways? im thinking of traveling to Bangkok on Etihad Airways but they only fly from abu Dhabi I called them and they said that because im taking the business class they call it Pearl Zone they are going to send us a limousine to my house to drive us to abu Dhabi airport, and if im using the coral zone which is coach I could go to their office at sh. Zayed road and get a Luxury coach service. My question is have any one travel with them are they good? Airplane Itinerary Question: Departure/Arrival Times, Where I sit, etc.? It's been quite a long time since I've had the luxury of flying on a plane (I grew up travelling overseas with my parents as a child ), but it's been so long that I have no idea how it's done per se. Anyhow, the question is as follows: Depart: INDIANAPOLIS, 2:10PM Arrive: NEWARK EWR, 4:15PM Depart: NEWARK EWR, 6:25PM Arrive: ST JOHNS NFLD, 10:56PM Now with that information given, are the times presented based on the airport I arrive in, or is it a generalized time for where the person has bought the ticket from?? Like, is my wait in Newark 2 hours once I arrive before leaving to St.John's?? Next, I was told on my itinerary I could find what plane to search for to find where my seat would be.. I have googled every portion of my details and nothing has came up. Money Downing Street hoped might be ploughed into the British economy is instead financing a property and consumer boom in Poland. The Polish Central Bank said the two million Poles who left home to work elsewhere in Europe sent home at least £3billion in 2007 via money orders and electronic financial transactions. It is estimated that around half of them are in the UK. One Warsaw newspaper estimated the amount sent from Britain to be a record £1.8billion, ten per cent up on 2006. But the Central Bank said the actual figure could be considerably higher. Its statistics do not take into account the thousands of Poles who preferred to travel home on coaches or planes with their earnings in cash. This would include those working in the "black economy" and thus not paying tax. Experts say the figure for 2008 is likely to be even higher as Poles continue to cash in on the good wages available in the UK. Economists said the money was being used to buy property and to invest in businesses in Poland. A female shop assistant in Bilgroraj in southern Poland, said her husband, who works as a decorator in London, had benefited from new bank offers which enable Poles to transfer money to Polish accounts without paying commission. She said: "My husband earns more from a week's work in Britain than I do in several months here in Poland. "We have four children and without that money we couldn't support the family at the kind of level we are now." Professor Leszek Gilejko, director of the Social Economics Faculty at the Warsaw School of Economics, said: "This is a very positive phenomenon. Emigrants are supporting our country and economy. "The influx of cash is changing the face of society in Poland." Why am I so jealous? One of my best friends is currently in Spain doing a one year course in business. She is there with another friend of hers from her previous university. At the moment they are touring across Europe and I saw her pics and I feel so jealous. I got married last year and am in North America, currently waiting for my paperwork so that I can start working. I haven't been on any holidays or shopping - haven't treated myself to a spa or had any luxuries since I got married and I feel so bitter. I am currently trying to lose weight and have joined a gym. I am trying to go from a UK size 14 to a size10. I know it's not impossible but it's proving very difficult. I look at my friends pictures and think that a couple of years ago that was me having fun with my other single friends, travelling etc. Now I feel that I have no identity. I have found out that it is cheaper for me to take the luxury bus on a bi-weekly 100 mile trip (for business), than to travel alone in my car (average 24 miles/gallon + tolls + parking; NOT counting maintenance of car, insurance, taxes, etc). It is also more comfortable and possibly faster because the bus can use HOV lanes. Rebecca, are you trying to sell me insurance? :-) I do not think that gas prices are going to come down significantly. My point is that many people will be forced to change their ways, including myself, and maybe that is going to result in energy savings (not only on a personal basis) but for the whole planet.

Should I stay or should I go?! I am trying my best to sensibly evaluate whether or not to leave my secure but life-draining corporate job to work in a more ideal work environment. I would be working with a friend and his business partner helping them manage a burgeoning tech company that their investment firm owns a majority stake in. I will start out making slightly less money, but will be given a luxury company car, will work out of my home office with some light travel a few times a month, and the job has nearly unlimited growth potential because of a liberal bonus plan which includes partial ownership of the company's holdings and investments. They have said that they will structure the job pretty much however I want, either with me being self-employed or as an employee. The problem is, I don't know enough about any of that to know which is the most advantageous tax-wise and therefor I can't determine if I can afford the temporary pay cut. They insist I will be living more comfortably because I'll be keeping more of my money, but I have no idea if they're right about that. What can I do to help make an informed decision? My salary would drop from 73k per year to 70k, but I would have to purchase my own medical and life insurance for a family of 5. Due to current debts, we're living closer to the edge than we would like to be and I really need to be sure that this is going to move us in the right direction. I have already priced health insurance and believe I can get something comparable to what I have now for around $425 a month. The plan I have at work costs over $1000 and I pay $325 of it, so only a $100 difference. The coverage might be a little better, but nowhere near enough to justify the $1000+ cost, so I don't know if they just pulled that number of out a hat or what. As for the tech book issue, this is an established ISP that has a lot of growth potential in its geographical area, it isn't meeting the demand for its product and we have plans to remedy that situation. I feel that I am marketable enough and young enough that if it doesn't work out I will be able to find something similar to what I have now.

He’s still living with the family at the moment. He work part time at a coffee shop and want to be chemical engineer after he graduate. At coffee shop that he works at, he has a coworker/friend who is majoring in business. This guy is making me crazy. He keep put all stupid idea in my friend’s mind. My son has been begging me to let him sell his car that we bought for him two years ago. He says if he sells the car, he’ll save $345 on gas and insurance. He even made a chart that shows he can save up to $500 a month if he sells the car. He says he want to sell his car for $4,000 and buy a bike and save everything else. He says he want to finish college and get a job and save as much as possible for a year so he can buy a house instead of renting. He also says he is considering to not owning a car until he retire. He also have been really bugging me about how I manage moneys. I bought a new television a couple months ago, my son keep telling me that I should haven’t bought new one since the old one was working fine. He tells me if I would have continued to save, I could have enough for a down payment for a new house and rent it out by end of year. He also is trying to talk me into not buying s motorhome that I’ve been saving up for a long time. Career Advice: What do I want to do with myself? What kind of resources are there to choose a career? Alright, so I'm in my 20s. I finished number 1 in my program in undergrad, and I'm number 1 in my top ranked graduate program. I've won every academic and leadership honor I could, and have lead the student governments and organizations I've been a part of with only great reviews. I've written a book, spoke in conferences, and even have patents in my name- I've gotten numerous, even high paying full time job offers, mostly for finance, investment banking, marketing, and general management- However, the thought of any of the jobs I've been looking at just seem completely unappealing. I know I'll be miserable in any of them. Theres got to be something I'm interested in, as I have a lot of interests, but I just haven't had any luck. I've worked through the guides in the career centers and the such, but with no luck- they are all limited to like 50 different job options. I know not everyone has the luxury of being "picky" but since I do, how do I best find something I can enjoy doing so I am not miserable? I am a work-aholic, and in the short-term positions I have held such as internships and my own businesses, I've excelled. I just get bored with them way too fast- the only thing that keeps me going is the "hope" that theres something better down the road. I'd love the variety in something like consulting too, but I can't stand travel (plus I physically don't fit in airplanes- i'm too tall unless I'm in first class or business class). What type of phobia is this (resorts, cruise ships, fancy hotels, etc.)? I'm totally freaked out by huge resorts, luxury cruises and super nice hotels. To me, they see like fake utopias where vacationers are convinced into believing that they're special world travelers who are actually seeing another culture. And they're not. They're just wealthy people who think the rest of the world is all kicks and giggles and are ignorant to most of what's going on around them. I didn't mean to offend anybody by this question. But I really want to know what this phobia is. It really bothers me, because my family is totally the opposite, so whenever we go on a vacation it feels like I'm being brainwashed by the travel business. Do you agree Melbourne & Australia is pretty average? I am 24 years old and have lived in Melbourne Australia all my life. I have backpacked Europe several months and the USA for several months as well. Having seen alot of the world, I often wonder why Australians continuously say "This is the best country in the world!" or "Mate, we live in the lucky country eh!" or most often "It's good to travel overseas but it makes you realise how lucky we are to live here!" Whilst I think Australia and Melbourne is comfortable to live in, I don't think it's necessarily "the best place in the world!" when compared to other countries. Why? See below a) Australia has only 3 "big" cities - Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane. Once you've seen and explored them several times there is not much else busy going on. b) Melbourne lacks beaches. The port is dirty. Beaches in places like Cairns and Far North Queensland are shut in Summer because of deadly box jellyfish that move in. c) Housing is extremely unaffordable. 6.5 time the average household income per year (compared to 3x in the USA). If you want to live "inner city" in Melbourne which is about 20-30 mins away from the city in decent subarbs without hoons, crime and gangs you pay literally millions for a house and hundreds of thousands for units of apartments with no land. d) Prices - Prices are insanely high and inflation is growing. Also caused by the drought. I mean, $3.50 for a 600ml bottle of coke? that is ridiculous. Any dinner at a restaurant that's decent costs $25-$50 these days and meat prices have shot up. Also everything imported costs so much more than the US/Europe because of Australia's tiny population and distance away from the rest of the developed world. e) Transport - Transport, even in big cities like Melbourne and Sydney is totally sub-par. There is no underground railway, and trains are slow, over-clogged and do not run efficiently. Often to go from East to West by train you have to go North then change trains and come back down. Trams are slow, clogged, inefficient, almost always late and yet the Gov't continuously promotes them over cars, even to the extent that major roads in the city have lost all but 1 lane, to trams that don't event run continuously! f) Tax - Australians are some of the most heavily taxed people in the world. GST (Sales tax) is at 10%, Income Taxes are high, Stamp duty on property is 5%!!!, Capital Gains Tax is high, Luxury Car tax is at 140% of the car's value!!!, car "registration" is approximately $600 and road toll's are increasingly common, Superannuation (retirement savings) are taxed at 15%, Businesses are taxed at 30%, Alcohol is taxed at 40% - where the hell does all this tax money go? g) Proximity - Australia is far away from Europe and the USA. Even Asia. Any time you want to see anything other than the "lucky country" it's going to cost you about $2,000+ to fly out of here. h) Crime - Crime is on the rise, largely due to poor immigration choices of unskilled, unintelligent migrants from Africa and the Middle East. The city of Melbourne and Sydney is dangerous at night with all of the gangs around.
