I live in Santa Fe NM. I own vacation rentals here.? The properties are in a commercial zone so it is perfectly legal for me to use them for Vacation Rentals. The City has a law on the books that says you can not do Vacation Rentals in residential neighborhoods. EVERYONE is doing it though. The City did not enforce the law for years. They are using the internet to rent out their properties and they are putting me out of business. The City of Santa Fe is going to pass new laws and start enforcing them. One of the biggest violators has been a couple of management companies run by licensed realtors. They are breaking the law and breaking their code of ethics. Anyone know anything about tortuous and illegal interference ? Can I sue them The bastards are putting me out of business.

Vacation Rentals in South Beach? My friends and I are planning to visit SoBe, Florida in a couple of weeks. We have three rooms reserved at a hotel, but believe it would be more of a group vacation if we rented a house.... In searching for this property, from various vacation rental sites online, I have been in contact with a couple of owners. Sales Tax on Vacation rentals? I have a vacation rental condo that I plan to rent out myself. I live far away from the unit. How could the local taxing authority (the city) where my unit is determine that I am not paying sales taxes (not that I wouldn't of course) or what my sales tax should be, without my telling them? What could the non-payment penalties be if I didn't pay them (but of course I would!) THANKS! Thanks for that. I think sales taxes such as "lodging taxes" esp at tourist areas, are the norm in this caase, at least the agencies that do condos charge it. My question is "how would they ever know?"

Which of the following do you think renters look for? Bicycles, Kayak or Canoe (we are on the water), Spa (hot tub), King size bed instead of Queen, Outdoor Kitchen, a supply of soap and spices? We have: DSL wireless, pool, private dock, portable charcoal grill, cable tv in family room and master bedroom, surround, AC, blow dryers in both baths.
Know anything about Tuscan vacation rentals? 3-5 friends and I are looking to rent a house for a week in Tuscany. We are early 30s females, fairly well traveled, probably looking at late June/early July. Am a bit leary of renting from random rental websites. Concerned about locations- distance from airport, stores (since we'll be buying our own food, etc.) Not really familiar with cities in Tuscany beyond Florence and Pisa. All would prefer pool or beach access. Have thought of resorts (which are probably out of our poor social worker budget) and tours (which were vetoed because we don't want lots of running around and repacking). So in writing all this, maybe we sound high maintenance- we just want to sit around in the sun- but we're not afraid of shopping, cooking, or cleaning up after ourselves. Are vacation rentals (by law) a residence or a place of business? I live in a beach condo with my disabled wife and her two service animals. The condo complex is predominately (over 75%) weekly or monthly vacation rentals which are managed by several different management companies. For the purposes of the law, as it applies to my wife's service animals, would this complex be considered differently than a condo complex which was primarily occupied by long-term renters and residents? In other words, isn't it more of a business than a residence and therefor shouldn't it be governed more by ADA law rather than FHA law?
