How do discount travel websites work?

When it comes to sites like "priceline.com" etc., is it cheaper to book at the last second or to book way in advance?

1. Both, actually. But if you do it way in advance, say 6 months, you could get it cheaper because it can always change. And with discount sites, refunds are not guaranteed and there will not be anyone there in case anything goes wrong. Go with a Travel Agent. Trust me, I know from experience that they always have better deals than the sites. And they don't charge outrageous fees, either. My husband, two children, and I went to Pakistan in October for $3000 total. I know another couple who went through a discount site and they paid $5000 just for the two of them. Good luck!
