Travel alone or in a group.?

I was wondering if its better to travel alone or with a travel group?I'm 18 and never travel before but i know my street smarts.I would like some websites for travel groups with tours or websites on how a new single traveller should do.I don't know where to start but i want to plan out something for the summer.I'm tired of never been out of canada.please post sites or information thanks.:)

Sorry i dont have websites, i dont have time right now, but i can tell you dont travel alone, but then again dont travel wit parents, you said your 18 so that shouldnt be a problem, if you want to travel in US, i suggest NYC, its one of the best and most unique cities in the world, outside, id try europe, ive been to Paris (also NYC) all absolutly loved them both... hope this helped

2. I've done both, and far prefer travelling alone. I find I've got much more freedom than on a group tour and don't have the frantic pace many of them try to keep up. By travelling alone, I also find I have better opportunities to meet the locals and have made friends around the world this way. I have enjoyed some aspects of group travel, but that's usually once the trip is over - there's always friends to share memories of the trip with.
