I've heard you can get free travel by arranging a group. How?

Some friends and I would like to arrange a group trip to Europe. I've heard that there are companies that will give you free travel if you get enough people to sign up for the trip. How do I find these companies? Or is it just a matter of negotiating deals on my own?

Links to "how-to" websites and book titles are appreciated...

thanks
Scott

1. You don't need "how to" books or websites. What you need is a a good old fashioned high street travel agent. And it's not as simple as you make it sound. A bona fide group is usually an interest group, company or association who are going from A to B and it is common practice to offer one seat free with "x" number of passengers - or as some of the more mean orgainsers do it, simply divide your fare by number of people and add it on to everyone elses. You cannot just arrange a tour and try and get people to sign up for it - that is tour operating and you need a licence for that. Well, you can try it on but you will be in deep sh -one-t if it all goes pear shaped....
