Help, I need to get out of here! What's a good quick solo vacation in the USA??

I'm in Northeast USA where the weather is cold. Haven't had a vacation in a really long time and I gotta get out of here for a few days. I have 4 days coming up of vacation time in a few weeks! I'm a guy looking for some adventurous activity maybe, solo vacation where I can just get away for a bit!

1. Try finding a local cabin rental and spend a few days in the woods with nature. If your brave enough to fight the weather, you could go hiking to reduce the amount of stress you feel by working it out. =) If not, stay inside (esp. if they have a fireplace) and catch up on things you like to do, i.e. reading, making models, drawing. Or see what good bands are playing in your area that you would like to see perform and make a weekend doing it. Plus what goes better with music than beer and food?

2. i live in the ne, and for a quick getaway, the florida keys are great, for a combination of sun, beaches, nightlife and resorts.
i have been often, and there are two place i like --key west and islamorada--the latter about a 3hr drive from miami, and islamorada about1.5 hrs.

lots to do, plenty of sports-fishing, snorkeling and diving, great restaurants; the nightlife in key west is unbelievable, and islamorada slows down around 11:00 on week nights--weekends are active.

you'll definitely feel like you've gotten away--if you want more adventure, south beach in miami is perfect!
