Which brand of travel packs is the best for adventure travel?

Between Tatonka, Vaude and Eagle Creek or other brands, which one is best for backpacking and why? Need your advice please. Thanks.

1. I bought an Eagle Creek convertible backpack, where the belt and shoulder straps tuck into the bag, but if I had to do it again today, I'd go a lot lighter and just buy a duffel bag and tuck my usual backpacking backpack inside, or buy a backpack small enough to be used as a carry on.
