can you really get good last minute travel deals or are they actually jacked up?

1. Usually when you book a flight like 10 months before it, you get extremely cheap prices and i'm talking $70-90 depending on the airline. Not many airlines will give you a ticket a cheap right at the last minute.
2. oh yes, go to a travel agent and go to apple .com and look at square deal...we just booked cancun from chicago in november at an all inclusive 5 apple for $606 for the week minus tax...thats per person
3. If you book a flight 14-21 days before its departure, you can often times find a really good deal, particularly if you are traveling during the middle of the week. The reason is because airlines scramble to fill those seats the last 2-3 weeks before the flight takes off. However, when you get towards the last few days, then prices sky-rocket, because they don't need to fill the seats quite as badly and can get away with charging you for more.
You don't usually want to go within 14 days of the flight, because those last couple of weeks, the rate is almost always jacked up because they know you're desperate to get the flight, and soon. Otherwise, you wouldn't be booking so close to when you need to leave.
4. last minute deals are actually jacked up!
book your travel at least 2 weeks before the travel date to get a good deal.
