travel agents?

i am going to new york in nov.on looking at hotel websites i noticed that sometimes they ask for travel agent details.is this to get a discount and does anyone know a number i can use to get a discount thanks

1. look websites like lastminute.com or expedia.co.uk those sites are offer some good deals.

2. i haven't but pick a hotel and you will have the number at the same time and Americans often give you email address but if you want to speak on phone i use a company 1p for 2 mins so its your choice

3. Many hotels do give discounts to travel agents -- usually, tho, it's nothing more than the typical discounts that AAA & AARP members get.

Even if someone gave you a number to type in, you'd still need to show proof when you check in.

I don't think you can get access to these although you could try something like www.promotioncodes.com which gives all sorts of codes to put in on different websites.

I've been to New York a number of times and I've always got far better deals on the web all-inclusive (airfare and hotel together) than trying to book seperately or through high street travel agents. Try something like www.new-york.letsgo2.com
