what are some good family activities to do in Sacramento,California?

I'm taking a vacation to Sacramento and are trying to find things to do there........... answer please

2. There are lots of family activities. It depends on when you and your family are visiting.

3. For young kids, go to the Zoo and Fairytale Town (located in William Land Park). For school-age kids, try Old Sacramento -- I like the Discovery Museum there. It has a lot of hands-on activities mixed in with California history, so kids can pretend to operate printing presses, sit at a restaurant, gold mining, etc. If the weather is nice, from the dock in Old Sac you can take the "River Otter" water taxi up the river and back. It's small and inexpensive. You can also get off at one end and eat Mexican at Chevy's if you like that. The Railroad Museum in Old Sac is also acclaimed. If you are from California you should visit the Capitol. If you are with slightly older kids, visiting on the second Saturday of the month, go to the art gallery on 10th & R which has lots of artists' exhibits and a bronze pouring at 7:30 p.m. -- All free! Don't forget a visit to Vic's Ice Cream or Gunther's...classic ice cream parlors. The B Street Theatre puts on top-quality children's plays, if your kids are interested in that.

4. Rent bikes and ride the Sacramento/American River. Sacramento Zoo that is in Land Park area is nice. State Capital if you would like a little history and then a short trip to Sutters Fort. SunSplash is a great water park in Roseville and will give you an entire day of water fun on a hot day for a very reasonable price. Old town for a day of shopping with fun stores for kids and great night life for adults. Music Circus is a great way to see some musicals with the kids.

You can also see a Rivercats game. That is the AAA baseball team. If you aren't a good fan of baseball, it is a great place to relax, hang with friends and grab some snacks.

There are lots of museums there. For example, there is the California State Railroad Museum and California State Indian Museum.
