California attractions for families?

We are interested in vacationing in California, however we are unsure of where to visit. We are looking for activities good for children ages 7, 11, and 15. (The oldest is a girl and the two youngest are boys) Any suggestions?
We are looking for something other than Disneyland because we have been to Disney World quite a few times already.

4. Newport Beach or Huntington Beach or any of the beaches. It's all beautiful. If you drive up the pacific highway you will see so many different areas. If you go south to San Diego you will go past La Jolla which has seal point...one of my favorite sights there is. There are many, many places to go to in California without ever going to an amusement park. Northern California has Napa, and Carmel and of course San Francision and how about the Giant Red Woods...Sequoia ... there is so much to see.
