Should I go or should I stay? Round the world travelling...?

I have been dreaming of travelling the world for a long time now. I want to enjoy the cultures, history, landscapes of so many different places. I feel bored and trapped in my life right now, and I need this adventure, culture and experience. I know I will have more opportunity to do this now while I am under 30 than I will later, and know I will regret not doing it. I have no kids, no family nearby and not really any close friends. I don't own a house. And I don't have huge career opportunities here.

What I will be leaving behind is: a wonderful fiance;a comfortable job with great hours, lots of vacation time, a pension I'm almost vested 100% in & 401k match, and decent pay for what I do.

What's really holding me back though is: about $30K in debt between student loans and credit cards; only around $1000 in savings; a very weak dollar; and an expired passport.

I know I can't have instant gratification, but I need to do this soon. What's your take on my situation?

2. For my opinion is stay cause its not enough for you to travel around the world. Its very expensive to do that and since you said that its the weak dollar as one of your main problem, then its even worst. Since you stated that, I take that you are from the States and as far as i know, its very expensive to fly to many places, especially to Asia. For you my advice is please hold on to your thinking and learn to self control until you can actually settle your debt then you can actually take the flight and off you go my friend. Or else you will not get better of your situation. Also take note that traveling around the world requires large sum of money and you have to a bit more than what you have as $1000 definitely not enough to cover much of your trip. So do settle your debt first before you ever think of it. Be calm, take a deep breath and work towards it. Hope you can manage it and really like to hear you travel around the world soon.
