Is travel lodge Really that bad?.....Valentines hide away....not ideal but....!?

Ok so i didnt realise i was going to have to book a hotel 4 valentines but now i need to (building work at home arghhhhhh!) but because i have now left it late everywhere is booked!! So the only place left is Travel lodge! i know what your thinking....not exactly luxury! But me and my bf have to stay quite locally in order to get to work the next day! So im in a position....Travel lodge OR valentines with the builders! Could i turn this rubbish situation into something good? Decorating with little pillows Candles petals etc? Ive never been in a travel lodge so any info? This is not an ideal situation but i still want to try and make the best of it Is it possible ? I know as long as me and my bf are together it will be lovely but i still dont fancy spending a night in a terrible hotel :(

No i dont stay in hotels at all lol so im clueless....just heard bad stories

What do you only stay in 5 star hotels or something usually?

Travellodge rooms are all basically the same. They are clean and have bathrooms and TV's. What else could you want?
