Cruises where teens are fully supervised?
I am looking to go on a cruise. I am a only mother with 2 kids, a boy aged 6 and a girl aged 14. Most of the cruise lines I have looked at have children and teen programs. However what is concerning me is that in all the teen programs I have looked at teens, even young teens 12-15 are allowed to come and go as they please. I don't like the idea of my 14 year old girl being able to wonder around the ship by herself. Dose anyone know a cruises line where teen (in particular teens aged 12-15) are not allowed to come and go as they please?
We live in Australia and as far as cost I have been saving for this for some time so as long as it's not to crazy it should be ok.

1. well first of all, where do you live and how much are you willing to spend?
EDIT:
I know of many cruises around Australia. The main cruise i know of is Captain Cook Cruises. They supervise everything (i've been on one of the cruises) and make sure no odd behaviour is happening. Another i could suggest perhaps would be P&O Cruises, they go to the most beautiful places however might be a bit costly, $2000 pp depending on where you go?
Here are some websites you can check out;

2. You are looking for a cruise line that will detain your kids?
It doesn't seem like much of a vacation for your kid. But if you want a floating prison try Alcatraz, it's close.
My advice would be to have your daughter bring a friend of the same age to have fun with, and be safe with. Part of the appeal of a cruise is the lack of structure, freedom! And she's at the age where she wants independence anyways. She will enjoy it MUCH more with a friend, and the buddy system will keep her safer than if she were alone.
It's a cruise ship, they wont serve her alcohol, they will kick her out of a casino, what trouble can she get into besides BOYSSSSSSSSSS..... ?
It's probably more dangerous at school.
3. i am 16 i went on a cruise last summer with my best friend and had the time of my life! one of the best parts was NO PARENTS! Haha don't worry if your daughter is good, she will not get into trouble. Just talk to her before you leave, and tell her that you trust her.
Cruises are great socially and a lot of fun. Mine was only 3 days long but I met a lot of great teens there.
4. I only know of ones that do clubs and stuff but dont keep an eye on them all the time and let them go off by thmselves so i dont think i can really help but am sure if you told your daughter not to go off the on the ship by herself or maybe if you asked the person doing the clubs on the cruise that she wasnt allowed to go off by herself. Mayb you could just look after her and then you would know exactly where she was.
5. Can I suggest you visit an travel agent and ask them as they should know every shipping line there is that looks after children
what you say about them running on their own thats out of the question as there are also dirty old men on board as well as the families so they would have to be supervised all and everyday
Some shipping companies do supervise but is your 14 yr old going to like being cooped up with the young kids I don't think so girls and boys think they are grown up at that age so its a big resposibility and I really have sympathy with you
We have been on cruises but don't have children but each time younger children have been supervised different times of the day especially when you want to go out atnight for a drink and a dance and meet others see the agents first before making any decision and have a happy holiday
